This study investigates the level of corporate social environmental disclosure among listed companies in the brewery and building material industry in Nigeria. The corporate annual reports for the periods 2004-2008 were utilized as our main source of secondary data. While the content analysis technique was used as a basis of eliciting data from the annual report, the student t-test statistics was used in the process of analysing if there was a significant difference in the level of corporate social environmental disclosure between the sampled industries. The paper as part of its findings revealed that there is a significant difference in the level of corporate social environmental disclosures between the selected industries. The paper therefore concludes that corporate social environmental disclosures among the selected listed companies is basically very low and still at its embryonic stage. The paper therefore recommends that corporate social environmental disclosure themes and evidence must be established to provide foundation for improving environmental information disclosures among companies....
Portals are the gateways that integrate the information from different sources in a single window and provide it to the end users. Portal implementation is a very intricate job as it requires a significant amount of resources and knowledge to invest. However portals have the ability to improve the status and ranking of an enterprise to the best of the customer satisfaction and employees moral. On the basis of these motivations we have proposed a model for the complete implementation and services delivery of portals. The model has two parts that describe the overall performance and the entire framework of the portal implementation. Finally the proposed model is an iterative model that can proudly accept changes at any stage of its implementation....

Managerial decision making is classified in three ways; choice about the law, choice about economic and social issues beyond the domain of law – ‘people values’ and choices between self interest and interests of the company-stakeholders. Business Ethics studies of how moral norms apply to these activities and goals of commercial enterprise and how business context poses its unique problems for morality acting as agents of system. Exercising power with responsibility calls for knowledge, perception, a well-developed philosophy and a set of ethical values, which can be systematically developed through pedagogy because these needs arisen to teach ethics. Managers encompass ethical frameworks to function effectively revolving around the anchor base of values. Experts take pleasure in comparing different theories and approaches, what needed in management education and practices is an honest attempt to balance means and ends, processes and products, consumption and preservation, competition and co-operation self and society. This business-framework is perceived as relationship, community, extended family operating in web of moral obligation and privileges. Balancing force energizes every step in this process is a contract ‘grass-root’. Public administers monitor it, while ethics goes further and appeals to humanizing and socializing factors, before touching spiritual realms. Indian traditional concept being oneness with self, others and with Nature becomes yardstick to measure moral values in managerial ethics. Not only individuals, but organizations and corporations also possess strong, amiable and expressive characters. Future successful managers shall be sensitized to the fundamental human values in analyzing social and global issues. Organizational Spirituality is one of the new windows opened in the area of organizational behavior which attracts and absorbs more adherents every day. In a country like Iran in which 95% of people have a single religion and majority of people are committed to religious mottoes. No other tool or instrument can be more effective than religion in spreading spirituality. One of the effective ways in solving financial problems in current organizations is to modify and improve consumption of the organization financial resources by employees because considering the strong connection between spirituality and avoiding dissipation, being committed to religion and spirituality might be helpful and life-saving. Becoming globally competitive has requires specific skills in developing economies as these environments are far more complex. Business as a complex system requires acknowledgement that we cannot control organizations to the degree that a mechanistic perspective will. Moreover, as the systems environment changes, so does the behaviour of its agents. Thus, the behaviour of the system as a whole can change. Linear strategies and decision making techniques become irrelevant with a shift to patterns and relationships between entities. Developing economies, especially, are more prone to the implementation of non-linear solutions because of the nature of the variables, the changes and interplays between the variables, the significant human focus and the consequent organic nature of the competitiveness. These variables introduce an unavoidable element of unpredictability/randomness into any management decisions. Complexity allows for pattern recognition which requires focusing on competencies, activities, technologies or resources signaling patterns that will impact on innovation, especially with respect to organizational, management and technological forms. Technology as knowledge is an intrinsic part of the pattern recognition the implementation of the above forms of innovation. This paper discusses the role of non linear management theories in a complex environment with regards to these innovations. In this sense, a resilience engineering approach provides the space for innovation implementation and the focus on organizational and management innovation through complex adaptive systems. The literature abounds with research on product and process innovation but less is said about organizational, management or technological innovation and their implementation....
